Biographies

 

Allan has a background in education, and taught at the elementary, junior high and college level. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) from UBC, and a MEd in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning from the U of C.

He also holds a Certificate of Theological Studies from Newman Theological College, Edmonton. He has an abiding interest in spirituality, the sacraments, and Christian theology.

Allan and his wife, Mindy, are members of St. Joseph Parish. Through the years they have been involved with Engaged Encounter, Cursillo, and the R.C.I.A. program.

Allan is a Lector, and co-leads the Griefshare program at St. Joseph’s church. He is a recent member of Peace Retreats.

 

Cam is a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Grande Prairie, AB. She was born, raised, married and lived in this area most of her life. She & her husband, John raised a large family of seven children. She is recently widowed.

Through the years she has been involved with Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, the Diocesan Vocation Committee and various parish ministries. She is a member of Peace Retreats and a Spiritual Director having taken her training and graduated from the Presence Program at Providence Centre in Edmonton.

She enjoys reading, studying, painting and her many grand & great grand children.

Harold is a United Church minister in Fairview.

 

Jennifer is a retired teacher and a retired School Board Trustee. She received her Spiritual Director’s training from Providence Center in Edmonton, and she has taken the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, 19th Annotation.

Jennifer has been involved with many activities in her Parish including Alpha and the Social Justice Committee. Jennifer has also been involved with Peace Retreats for many years and enjoys sharing her faith with others.

Traveling, writing and being a wife, mother and Grandma keeps her life full and fulfilled.

Sister is a member of the congregation of School Sisters of Notre Dame. She presently lives in Peace River, AB where she enjoys walking along the trails beside the river that flows through the beautiful valley.

She is currently the director of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis for the Grouard-McLennan Archdiocese and also coordinator of the Peace Retreats Team. Her past and present experiences include education, pastoral ministry, faith formation with children and adults, retreat work and spiritual direction.

She has a Master's degree in Christian Spirituality and an enthusiasm for helping others in their spiritual journeys.

 

Pat Hunt is a retired Elementary School Teacher who taught with the Grande Prairie Catholic School System. She holds degrees in Art and Education including a Masters in Religious Education from Newman Theological College, Edmonton, and graduated from the Presence Program in Spiritual Direction at Providence Renewal Centre, Edmonton.

Pat is on the team of Peace Retreats, and has taken the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, 19th Annotation. She has also facilitated groups taking the Exercises.

Pat enjoys reading, creating art, travelling, and being a Grandma.

Sheila Shepherd:

 

Sheila is a retired Elementary School Music Teacher and has always been involved in the Music Ministry at church.  She recently retired from her Private Piano Studio and enjoys her work as an accompanist when time permits.

Sheila has participated in the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises 18th and 19th Annotation in various formats. She has graduated from the Presence Program in Spiritual Direction at Providence Renewal Centre.

She enjoys her family and friends and the grandchildren; her quiet time; summer walks, reading and accompanying others on the piano.

 

Roma is a retired Homecare Nurse. Among her many interests are Quilting, which she teaches, and Writing. Roma has been involved in several Church related activities over the years such as Bible Studies, Marriage Encounter and Cursillo.

She is a graduate of the Presence Program (Formation in Spiritual Direction) at Providence Renewal Centre, Edmonton. and is on the team of Peace Retreats.
